Should Manuel Almunia play for England?
October 31st, 2008 at 12:45 pm by Jamie Farrier

I’m so sorry, he’s from Pamplona…

The devilish fiend of Farrier returns just in time for All Hallow’s Eve and with another tantalising proposition, arguing both sides of the story just for the sake of stirring the cauldron. As there is no possible way of furthering the tedious Halloween link to a certain Arsenal goalkeeper, let’s just get straight on with the big question:

Hands up if you’re a real football fan

I’m doing a detox. No fatty foods, white bread, sweet things, chocolate, especially no chocolate. I’ve got headaches, sweaty palms and I’m drenched in copious amounts of masking perfumes. A detox is meant to be good for you, it’s meant to be.

But I’m not finished yet, I’m taking out the unhealthy, unvirtuous things in life and adding one more. I’m ridding myself of the belief my team can win the league. I’m detoxing the dream.

Quinton Quiz – Football Buzzards part II (swearing edition)
October 28th, 2008 at 7:00 am by Mystical Mike

For those of you who are still unfamiliar with Quinton Quiz then here’s a little introduction, he’s the love child of Maggie Thatcher, Statto & Roy Cropper from Cori. He may look like an absolute goon, but he knows his onions when it comes to footy.

He recently came out of retirement to play for the mighty Wycliffe FC in their record 7-0 first round cup defeat. The words cart and horse are applicable as he was run ragged by their speedy 49 year old winger.

Battersea Ironside – Match report 25/10/08
October 27th, 2008 at 10:07 am by Dexy Longshot

The Irons lose again

They say when your luck is not in its not in but in the case of the Ironsides, man it must be on vacation in Fiji !!. When you have an effort cleared off the line that seemed destined to goal, it aint in: when you have a one on one well saved, it aint in; when you dominate a half 70-30% and still go in at half time goalless, it aint in; and also when perhaps one of the leagues best strikers, get a call an hour before the game saying his parents are getting divorced, man its time to give up the ghost.

Why don’t we travel to away games anymore?
October 23rd, 2008 at 7:00 am by Mystical Mike

Away day blues
Hands up then, how many away games have you been to this season? Two? Three? I have seen precisely none. I nearly, nearly went last week, only to be told that if I wanted to make the 320 mile round trip I’d be doing it on my own. I didn’t fancy that much.

Relegation here we come?
October 22nd, 2008 at 7:00 am by Martin Tibbetts

Is this the year we lose a so called big club?

The Premier League table makes interesting viewing right now. The situation at the top, with Hull sitting pretty in 3rd place has been discussed recently here so I will not dwell on it, other than to say that it is fabulous to see them there and long may it continue. It’s the state of the bottom three that I want to concern myself with.

Spurs – To good to go down?
October 21st, 2008 at 7:02 am by Matt Quinn

Championship not Champions league

Just before the season began, I wrote an article predicting Spurs would be the ones to break the “Sky 4” stranglehold at the top of the table. I thought their signings were interesting and progressive, their strength in depth impressive and thought their manager had pedigree. To be fair to me, they hadn’t sold Berbatov and Man City had yet to be taken over but still it is turning out to be a pretty rubbish prediction all in all.
