| Hull City – Team of the season |
|
September 30th, 2008 at 1:28 pm by Matt Quinn
Kings of the jungle On Saturday evening I was part of a drunk, betting syndicate that decided the odds on Hull City to beat Arsenal were just too generous to ignore. £100 later and suddenly we all look like footballing Nostradamus’. Yet none of us seriously expected a return on our alcohol fuelled punt as the sincere pre-match predictions were whether Arsenal would score 5 or 6 or 7. |

Mike Ashley in the mood for sausages The Nigerian conmen hoping to buy Newcastle United have confirmed that it is in talks to buy Newcastle United. The group is said to have offered 4 cows and 6 packet of sausages, but Ashley admitted he was looking for a better bid. The man fronting the bid is a UK-based businessman who has in fact refused to confirm the size of the offer, we have offered no sausages or Cows, at this stage it’s to early to see if the club are worth that much. It is also rumored that the same group of conmen also bought 65% share of Spurs for 1 red shoe and 16 packets of crab sticks. |

NPL Reserves 2 – The Irons 6 It seems to becoming the 11th Commandment -”Thou shalst give your opponents a two goal lead” as yet again the The Irons did just that for the 3rd week running and this time after just 15 minutes !!! NPL came out all guns blazing and their second goal was certainly a bullet from 40 yards though legend will say 60!! |

| Villa – The most likable team in the Premier League |

Take us to the promise land I know that I generally write negative things about the Premier League, but I genuinely feel that its existence has been eroding all that we love about the game of football for too long, and that the world would be a better place without it. Too much money is being funnelled into it, by too many people who don’t give a monkeys about the game, or about anything but short term financial reward. I really hope that the so called big 4 all fail early in Europe this year, as it could make these cynical investors look elsewhere and leave us in peace. |

The Irons 4 Lambeth 5 As it’s early days and the Irons are a new team, we’ll go easy on them for now, truth is, they do deserve a coating for the friendly defeat on Saturday, but on a positive note there’s room for improvement, and thanks to UK Football Finder they have found a few gems. They also looked the dogs in their new UKFF sponsored kit! |
