G: James – No one else comes close this year

RB: Bakary Sagna – Arsenal’s best player this year
CB: Vidic – Was missed when injured more than Ferdinand
CB: Woodgate – Tightened up Spurs defence and has been consistent when he has played
LB: Lescott – Solid and goalscorer – Played laft back for most of season

RM: Ronaldo – Best player in the world
HCM: Carrick – Better than Fabregas at passing, breaking up play and consistency
ACM: Cole, J. – Sorely missed cy Chelsea in Carling Cup and dangerous whenever he gets the ball
LM: Ashley Young – Been phenomenal. Goal scorer and assist king

F: Torres – Scores at will – If Ronaldo wasnt in UK, would have got more attention
F: Keane – Work rate up there with Rooney’s but he scores and assists too

Subs:
Ferdinand – Great season but still some schoolboy errors
Flamini – Was more valuable than Fabregas over whole season and gave more to the team
Essien – Consistent and scores some cracking goals
Adebayor – Superb when he isn’t distracted by Gallas’ inability to captain a football team
Rooney – Workrate and passion

Barry just misses out but Santa Cruz, Gerrard, Fabregas have not been consistent enough, Hleb falls over too easily and punches people in the face when he doesnt get his own way and Gallas shoudl be banned forever for his total twatiness!!!

Very nice team. I like all these picks although I am a little surprised that Gerrard isn’t mentioned as a possibility for CM. Although he started the season slow, he (along with Torres) has really come on strong in the second half to take away any doubt of Liverpool falling out of the fourth Champions League spot. I don’t think he should be in there, but should get a nod for honorable mention.

I also have unnatural thoughts about Fernando and he has truly replaced Henry as the striker whose skill pays for the pints in front of Sky on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Martin Laursen has been an awesome defender for Aston Villa. Richard Dunne has been good for Manchester City. I wonder sometimes how good the defenders are at the top clubs relative to the mid table clubs. Are the top teams better on defense or just so awesom on attack that teams don’t press forward as much out of fear?

Almunia? He doesn’t bring confindence to the back four, although I do agree with Sagna and Clichy, Toure, Gallas (twat) an Senderdros have made more mistakes this season then the two full backs will make in their careers. For Sagna has been one of the signings of the season, he’s solid, he’s quick and like Clichy loves to bomb forward.

Ferdinand has been class, so as has Vidic, and even Brown.

Carrick has been good, over the last few weeks I have noticed how good is passing actually is.

I think it’s been a very poor year for goal scorers though, the Premier League certainly does miss Van Mistletoe & Mr Henry.

I must confessed, I actually guessed Matt’s team except for James & Lescott. I would agree with most of it except I would have put Robbie Keane in there somewhere, on the bench at least. Mind you, the Spuds were crud until Ramous gave in so actually no, leave him out. Actually, they still are crud!
