Eighteen months and 12 qualifying games have passed since the FA last appointed an England manager. I would love to say it was a brilliant, successful appointment but I cannot. I would love to say the FA went out and made sure we got the right man for the job, I cannot.

There’s a major issue at the moment with the talk of limiting the number of foreign players playing in English football. Personally, I would rather see home grown players who support the club coming through the ranks.

This week’s Longshot comes in at a handsome 9-1 for a 2 horse race which in my little black book is always worth a nicker. The winning horse this week though, will be wearing the claret and blue of West Ham and nudging the West End Chelsea boys into 2nd place by a nose (even if it is Avram’s conk.)
